Designed for Busy Houston Professionals
If you're a professional in Houston managing high performance demands, leadership stress, or the emotional weight of career success, you may find that traditional ideas about therapy don't quite fit your life. You don't have hours to spare. You may not have a language yet for what you're experiencing. You may wonder whether what you feel is "serious enough" to warrant support.
At Destination Therapy, we specialize in exactly this intersection: the high-achieving professional who is excelling on paper but struggling internally. We work with clients navigating:
- Burnout and chronic workplace stress, the exhaustion that goes beyond being tired
- Perfectionism, where high standards have become a source of suffering rather than strength
- Anxiety management, including persistent worry, overthinking, and hypervigilance
- Work-related identity issues like imposter syndrome, self-worth questions, and career meaning
- Life transitions such as new roles, relocation, relationship changes, or unexpected loss
- Stress management, building sustainable rhythms in high-demand environments
We understand that your schedule is demanding, which is why our intake process is designed to be efficient and respectful of your time from the very first contact.
Book a ConsultationCulturally Affirming, Anti-Racist Care in Houston
Finding a therapist who understands your cultural context is not a luxury. It is a clinical necessity. When the therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of genuine cultural understanding, outcomes improve and clients engage more deeply.
At Destination Therapy, anti-racist and culturally affirming care is not an add-on service or a marketing statement. It is embedded in how we practice. Our therapists bring lived experience and professional training to work with BIPOC clients, Black clients, and members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced systemic harm, microaggressions, intergenerational trauma, or the particular exhaustion of navigating environments that were not designed for them.
We offer dedicated BIPOC therapy services, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, and sex and intimacy counseling in an environment where you never need to explain, justify, or educate your therapist about your identity. You can simply show up and do the work.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy in Houston
What is Destination Therapy, and is it related to a medical procedure?
Destination Therapy is a Houston psychotherapy and counseling practice. It is not a medical procedure. The name reflects our philosophy: that therapy is a journey toward a destination of greater wellbeing, clarity, and connection. We offer individual counseling, couples therapy, and trauma-informed care to adults in Houston and across Texas via telehealth. If you're searching for information about ventricular assist devices or cardiac procedures, you've reached the wrong destination. If you're looking for a therapist in Houston, you're in the right place.
What types of therapy does Destination Therapy offer in Houston?
Destination Therapy offers individual therapy, couples counseling, premarital counseling, EMDR therapy, sex and intimacy therapy, and specialized support for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients. Sessions are available both in-person at our Houston location and via telehealth for clients in Texas, California, and Utah. We use an integrative, culturally responsive approach, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic techniques, and mindfulness practices depending on each client's needs and goals.
How do I get started with Destination Therapy in Houston?
Schedule a free consultation directly through our website. One of our therapists will reach out at your scheduled time to discuss your needs and determine whether we're a good fit. There's no obligation to commit before you're ready.
Does Destination Therapy offer telehealth therapy?
Yes. Destination Therapy offers telehealth sessions for clients located in Texas, California, and Utah. Virtual sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform and follow the same structure as in-person appointments. Telehealth is a great option for clients with demanding schedules, those in areas without nearby therapists, or anyone who prefers the flexibility of attending sessions from home.
What should I expect during my first therapy session?
Your first session is an intake and assessment. Your therapist will ask about what brought you to therapy, your history, and what you're hoping to work toward. You won't be expected to share everything immediately. The first session is primarily about establishing the relationship and identifying goals together. By the end of the first session, you and your therapist will have a clearer picture of the areas to focus on and a general sense of how often to meet.
How much does therapy cost at Destination Therapy?
Individual therapy sessions start at $160 for 50 minutes. Our fees range between $160 and $200 depending on the therapist's level of education and experience. For couples counseling, we offer both 50-minute sessions starting at $200 and extended 80-minute sessions at $280. In order to protect your privacy and confidentiality, Destination Therapy accepts out-of-pocket payment.
